Add pre[*] in extended valid elements. It is stripping the pre code.

Which version of joomla you are using. Also there should be two items i) valid elements and ii) Extended Valid elements. Please check which editor that is. Can you send me details.

Joomla ans TinyMCE have been recently updated :
Joomla 3.4.4
TinyMCE 4.1.7
The 2 parameters are called the same in the french version of Joomla. So this si not an issue.

So ; I'm sorry the last site update deleted the tinymce advanced parameters.

When I add "pre[*]" in 'ii) extended elements' the plugin still doesn't work... (steps are those that I described)
<?php echo "something";?>

... after Joomla's control becomes :
<!--?php echo "something";?-->

OR
select * from mytable

is displaying but the 'code' tags too, before and after.
